Condensed Supramolecular Helices: The Twisted Sisters of DNA

چکیده
Condensation of DNA helices into hexagonally packed bundles and toroids represents an intriguing example functional organization biological macromolecules at the nanoscale. The condensation models are based on unique polyelectrolyte features DNA, however here we could reproduce a DNA-like with supramolecular small chiral molecules, thereby demonstrating that it is more general phenomenon. We show bile salt sodium deoxycholate can form upon interaction oppositely charged polyelectrolytes homopolymer or block copolymers. At higher order, controlled hexagonal packing be accomplished. results disclose unknown similarities between covalent non-covalent helical polyelectrolytes, which inspire visionary ideas constructing versions macromolecules. As drug nanocarriers polymer–bile superstructures would get advantage complex chirality molecular levels, whose effect nanocarrier assisted efficiency still unexplored fascinating issue.

Condensed DNA: condensing the concepts.
DNA is stored in vivo in a highly compact, so-called condensed phase, where gene regulatory processes are governed by the intricate interplay between different states of DNA compaction. These systems often have surprising properties, which one would not predict from classical concepts of dilute solutions. The mechanistic details of DNA packing are essential for its functioning, as revealed by t...

In this work, we use the formal definition of $k$-slant helix cite{ali2} to obtain the intrinsic equations as well as the position vector for emph{slant-slant helices} which a generalization of emph{general helices} and emph{slant helices}. Also, we present some characterizations theorems for $k$-slant helices and derived, in general form, the intrinsic equations for such curves. Thereafter, fr...

Information storage in chemical and biological systems involves recognition processes occurring at the molecular and macromolecular level. The implementation of a “code” can consist of multiple noncovalent interactions, which include hydrogen bonds, π-stacking, hydrophobic interactions, and appropriate molecular and supramolecular architectures. With the double-helical DNA structure stabilized ...
